Paint Guards™ were created by a General Contractor with almost 20 years experience in the Custom Home Building and Renovation industry.
Although an effort was made to deliver the best finished product for the customer, there was always a "punch list" submitted at the completion of a job. One of the most frequent items was a complaint about the paint residue left on the outlet and switch devices. Painting contractors would always cover the device with tape, but there would always be some type of over-spray or bleeding. Additionally, the electrical conduits as well as the wires would receive excess paint and sometimes result in a failed final inspection by the Code Official. The options were to try and remove the paint from the device, but this could damage the outlet or switch. Additionally, if the electricity was on, there would be a safety hazard. The other option was to replace the device, but the the additional electrical labor costs were excessive and not budgeted.
The above led to the development of Paint Guards™. The objective of producing a product that was easy to use, inexpensive and able to resolve the "call back" issues was met.
